Tunnel Mountain Campground Winter Use

Parks Canada Visitor Experience is proposing to use the existing Tunnel Mountain Campgrounds for winter use. This will include an assortment of groomed winter activity trails created in the Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court and Village 1 campgrounds while they are closed to camping and covered in snow. This proposal consolidates lessons learned from previous pilot seasons and describes a stable offer to be implemented during 2019-20 and future winter seasons. The components include:
a) Machine trail grooming of Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court.
b) Machine trail grooming of the connector trail from Northest corner of Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court and Tunnel Mountain Village 1.
c) Machine grooming along the Tunnel Mountain Campground Loop trail.
d) Trailhead infrastructure- Ski Rack, Warming hut, parking signs, way-finding signs etc.
e) Snow relocation and preservation tactis ('wind barrier' along connector trail).
