Parks Canada Agency Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk Repairs

Parks Canada plans to complete various repairs along the Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk. The work will involve repairing concrete and sonotube foundations, as well as worn steel railing posts and vertical support frames. The repairs will take place in two phases over two summers. The first phase will occur in summer 2026 and will focus on steel repairs. This work is expected to last eight weeks. The second phase will take place in summer 2027 and will involve foundation repairs over a four-week period.


Latest update

May 8 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until June 7 2026 respecting that determination.
