Cochrane Hill Gold Project

Atlantic Mining NS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, is proposing the construction, operation, decommissioning, and reclamation of an open-pit gold mine located within Guysborough County, approximately 145 kilometres northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. As proposed, the Cochrane Hill Gold Project would include one open pit, material storage, site infrastructure, crusher and concentrator facilities, an above-ground tailings management facility, mine site haul roads, and access roads.

August 29, 2022 — The environmental assessment of the Cochrane Hill Gold Project has terminated. The proponent has not provided the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada with the required information or studies within the legislated time limit.
